This is a material-driven design study conducted in collaboration with Stora Enso to increase the utility of a 3D-printed biocomposite, consisting of equal parts wood-fibers and biobased plastics in the public furniture sector. By exploring various post-processing techniques, the project aimed to remedy the distinctive surface roughness entailed by additive manufacturing. By doing so, the material may better meet the specific requirements of the furniture industry and improve the overall quality of the final product.
